Stopping carers allowance before it’s even started

I wrote a while ago about being rejected because they said I studied full time when I study part time.

They sent me a form for college to fill out which I sent back a few weeks ago. I’m due to start a new job and will not be entitled to carers allowance once I start.

If I ring up now and inform them of my start date will they still pay the backdated amount when they process the form and stop the claim from my start date? I applied in January with the backdating from October requested.

Yes, if your were entitled for that period yes they should. It’s not your fault having to wait longer because the application was rejected and time taken to authorise it.
