Hi everyone, Iv recently applied for the carers allowance for the first time as I look after my mum who is on PIP. What is the current wait time looking like with everything that’s going on.
Not sure, because of the pandemic, but I can tell you that it will be backdated to the day of application.
I heard back today about CA claim , only took about 10 days which surprised me . May have been quick because mine was very straightforward. Been awarded it and backdated payment to be made next week .
Mine is a little more complicated as I’m trying to claim from march (when sixth forms closed prematurely) but it seems they only want to take into account my official course end date ( June) and keep sending me forms to fill in about the course I finished in March. It’s a shame because I meet the criteria fully and it isn’t being recognised.
