New Joiner

Hi there,
I have cared for my wife for the past 6 or 7 years, she has escaemic heart failure (ICD device fitted), COPD, type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
I have had my own recent health issues and now work part time, which gives me more time with my wife.
Looking forward to talking to others in a similar situation, it feels sometimes like unpaid cares are the forgotten ones.
I am also a member of Carers Bucks.

Welcome to the forum Kevin.

I hope you find it supportive and informative.

Welcome aboard, Kevin

I recently took early retirement to care for my wife as I’d been forced to work from home due to covid. Physically, it was less of a strain than caring and working. Financially, not so much!

Have a good look round, anyway. And do have a look at the Members section and “Roll Call.”

Hi my husband has anxiety and depression, this came on quite suddenly in February, after he probably had depression quite a while without realising.
I read how carers should care for themself, do their own activities etc, however my husband finds it hard to cope with being in the house alone so I’ve hardly been able to go out for over three months and I feel I might reach a point I no longer feel calm and caring.
It is so helpful to be able to type this out
Thanks if anyone reads this
