New here

Hi
This is my first time on here, just reading the posts really hits home with me.My daughter who is in her mid 20’s has bipolar disorder but all the emotional stress sounds the same. Not knowing from one hour to the next if she is going to be talking to me or not, constantly getting accussed of things I haven’t done! She very rarely shows any empathy for the ones closest to her. If you say no or things aren’t going her way she will cause so much caos! I know it’s her illness but sometimes it is difficult to separate her from the bipolar. I have sat this morning and cried for 2 hours. I know others are going through the same but at times you feel so alone x

Hi Claire

Having a child of any age with a mental illness is tough. I do feel for you. My son was diagnosed with schizophrenia over 20 years ago and we have been through some horrendous times but now, at 38, he seems to be less volatile and more amenable than he used to. He could be unempathic, mean, angry and blaming.

You’ve found us now so I hope you don’t feel so alone any more. Come to the forum any time you like for support, advice or just to have a rant. You may find you’ll get most responses in the “New to the Forum” section.
