Looking after my mum and feeling so lonely

@JohnnyBoy your friend in France or any of the other friends you have abroad that know you. They may know someone who is their friend who is single and like the same things as you. You’re still young Johnny. Are there any groups where you live carer groups or ex carer groups you could go to to meet people.or social groups where you live carer.

@Teddybear , it’s crossed my mind a couple of times. Funny you mentioned my mate in France, I spoke to his teenage daughter on the phone the other day. She was very broken up over my mums death. She always called her aunty. My other pals in Spain, Portugal and Ireland are thinking of “hooking me up”. I said I’ll think about it. I want to sort out a few existing issues first. As I told them, I’ve haven’t been in a relationship since I was 24. This they know.

@Teddybear , aye I am. Only until I get my broadband up and running. I hadn’t had time to sort it out since mum fell ill then died. It’s been a godsend to me, especially in the last few months.

@JohnnyBoy thats good. Yes everything takes time doesn’t it, don’t forget when you decide to get your broadband up and running you will be able to get a social tariff because of your situation. I’ve mentioned that incase you didn’t know. I hope you are doing ok. It’s very overcast and still cold here. Have a good day.

@JohnnyBoy universal credit says it starts from the date of application.1st payment is usually 5 weeks after application.if you report a change in circumstances due to sickness. Your payment amount may increase following a work capability assessmentment after a 3 months waiting period ,that’s what CAB says online.check all this with UC make sure they are aware that your circumstances have changed now ,that’s you are not well.

Do you have a journal. Aswell as sending in sick notes.you also have to report in your journal change of circumstances. Due to sickness.sending in sick notes does not automatically increase payments immediately. You will likely continue with regular work coach appointments initially.after about 3 months of sending in sick notes.you should be referred for a work capability assessment. If you are found to have limited capability for work related activity.(LCWRA) following the assessment you will recieved extra money.this is usually paid from the 13th week of submitting your sick note.if your income decreases or your expenses increase due to sickness then you need to report these in your online journal.

You get free heath costs don’t you Johnny ,free prescriptions, eye tests, dentists etc, being on low income just checking.

Hope this is helpful. Info is cab. And gov. @Melly1 can you put this on @johnnyboy new to this site. Put it on wrong page I thought this was his.lol I think I’m having a bad day.i tried to fiqure it ok. I can’t thankyou.

It was lovely here in the New Forest this morning, then it turned so much colder that I’ve lit the woodburner, sat in the recliner and even nodded off briefly!

@Teddybear , fair point. I’m not very familiar with the system. I’m due an over the phone appointment with one of the coaches in a couple of weeks. If and when things work out, it’ll be nice to have free prescriptions, eye tests etc. Especially considering my doctor has put some anti-anxiety tablets on it along with my asthma medication. I’ve always for a long time have been paying for my prescriptions. Thanks for setting me straight on a few things. :slightly_smiling_face: PS, I went to the local housing office yesterday, I’ve gave them plenty of items to prove I’ve lived at the property for over 12 months. Apart from a couple of formalities (housing officers’ words), looks like I’ll be living in the family home for the foreseeable future. Mega chuffed. :face_exhaling:

@Teddybear , hmm, interesting. I’ll ask the local Job Centre Plus about it. Couldn’t hurt to try. Weather wise, mixture of sunshine, clouds and a gentle breeze. Possible rain later.

@Teddybear OK. Will do. I’ll try to do the online form when I get chance. I tried a few times before but the site kept crashing on me. In the end, I did my UC claim form over the phone in the end. I was nothing short of frustrated with the website. Anyway, I’ll check it out. Cheers.
