Hi, I’m new, I’ve registered as a carer for support to myself and to support others if I can
I am just getting used to the site so apologies if I make a few mistakes
Hi @Max1171 and welcome!
Why not pop into Roll Call and join in! You can tell us a bit about yourself there and it’s a bit more private.
Welcome to the forum. Don’t worry about doing things wrong, our mods are all current or ex carers. Most of us have found the forum when we have a dilemma or crisis then support each other. I have supported all four elderly disabled parents and other family members, and I have had some very serious health issues myself.
Hi @Max1171
Welcome to the forum.
It might be worth adding a bit about yourself and your caring situation on this thread or start another new thread in the Members section (which is more private as @Charlesh47 says.)
Then, it’s easier for others to check your situation/story and what advice has been offered already without having search out posts in a very long thread and asking you the same questions over and over.
Lovely to see you joining in on roll call too.
Hi All,
Just a little bit more about myself.
I care for my husband who suffers severe anxiety and depression, seems to have been caused by chronic pain, so the doctors think,
We have explored avenues of getting help and this is ongoing but a very slow process and long wait times..
I myself have had a couple of ‘melt downs’ recently, mostly crying, feeling unloved and at a loss what to do.
So my reason for joining this site is for my own well-being, While I’m supporting P I have to also find ways of keeping my own spirits up.
First time I’ve ever felt the need to do this ..
@Max1171 I’m glad you found us all and Roll Call
Here’s another fun thread you may like, started by our lovely @Ula

We all need giggles and that was one of my favourite discussion threads
Ah Victoria Thanks,
There’s some great ones on there ,
I’ll have a read occasionally,
I can’t think of anything to add right now but you never know
