Very disappointed. This forum is too diverse, too big, very very difficult to navigate. And as a carer I have enough hurdles and shit to figure out…
Support groups online should be more intimate and easier to connect…this one isn’t!

Why not tell us why you came here and what help you want?

Hi Karen,
Sorry you feel that way. Welcome anyway.

A lot of carers first find the forum at times of great stress.

Carers come to the forum for different reasons, so we try and cater for everyone as best we can. Some carers seek practical advice, some seek emotional support or friendship, some want info on money matters, some seek info on a specific condition, some (like me when I joined,) have only just realised they are a carer.

If you feel comfortable telling us a little more about your caring situation or what you came to the forum looking for, we might be able to help.

Although you posted after midnight, you had a reply within 20 minutes. Where else would this happen?

There are lots of current and former carers here, between us we have met almost every problem imagineable. When my brother was dying of cancer in Uruguay, I was making expensive phone calls until someone introduced me to Skype, within minutes of me asking.

Please don’t worry about where to put a post, our mods are all carers too, and they can soon move it if needed. I like to think we are a friendly bunch, virtual friends.

Why not give us another try when you get a chance? It seems that you are grappling with some issues which are badly affecting you at the moment. We may be able to help make your caring role easier.
Equally, if you need “permission” to say “Enough is Enough, I can’t do this any more” you will get support for that too.

Hi Karen
The fact that this forum has grown so big is merely indicative of the scale of the problems carers face, sadly

You may it useful to learn the use of the Quick links, at the top left of the forum shown by the 3 little ‘menu bars’
‘Your posts’ then take you to your posts and any replies
‘Unread ’ and ’ new’ posts show everything since you last logged on, but can be huge
Best of all is ‘search’ where you can search for your particular problem or carers illness. Again there’s a lot there, because theres a lot of us out here in difficult situations

If you want to tell us more about your situation, we can provide links for you that might help

Hope this helps a little
