pleas help because i really dont know where to go from here

You MUST claim Carers Allowance, then you will not be required to look for work.
Carers UK has a great helpline, they made me £50 a week better off, which made a huge difference to me at the time.
What does mum need help with?

Hi,

welcome to the forum.

Is your username your real name? If so, please contact membership@carersuk.org and ask them to change it, to protect your identity.

Can I ask, how old is your Mum and what sort of support does she need?

Whilst mum will no longer receive an extra allowance for not having a carer, you will receive an equivalent amount for being her carer, so your overall income for the two of you will remain roughly the same. By getting Carers Allowance, you will receive credits towards your state pension one day. I believe in some circumstances you can have credits even if you don’t claim CA, please investigate this further.
