MY GP says i cannot be classified as a carer because i dont receive carers allowance.
I run my business from home and look after my mother and father as well, so i dont qualify for carers allowance. Is this correct?
Thank for any help
No, not really. If you’re a Carer, then you’re a Carer. My GP’s notes say that I’m my wife’s Carer, I don’t receive CA as I’m past pension age and in receipt of State Pension, (can’t get both).
You don’t have to be in receipt of carers allowance to be registered as a carer at your G.P.
If your parents are registered at a different G.P. You should also register you care for them at their G.P.
