Exercises to help with wobbly legs?

Hi,
Any exercise tips to help prevent falls?
My mum lives alone at 97, so she’s doing really well.
She says her legs are getting more wobbly so she’s having to hold onto furniture more.
We have grab rails and two zimmer frames.

My question is whether there are very simple exercises she could do to strengthen her legs?

Many thanks

I’d suggest that ideally your Mum needs a referral to your local Falls Clinic or Physiotherapy Department where they would be able to assess her and be able to advise on suitable exercises.

Hi Richard,

Susieq is right, nothing replaces a physio/OT assessment and advice from the falls prevention service. However, with services stretched and your Mum keen to start, here are some links from Age UK. It is worth her trying these out first when someone is with her, to ensure she is safe and confident doing them, before doing them alone.

[Many thanks, susieq, I’ll definitely follow that up!
