hey my Grandmother who i cared for passed away last Thursday. I want to know how long do i get before universal credit want to me back in work. i get full universal credit and little bit of carer’s alliance because am no way ready to start looking for work. am really scared if they say i have to look for work straight away. has anyone advise me on what do to or say to them before i cancel carer’s alliance thanks

Firstly I am sorry to learn of your Grandmother’s passing.
Carers Allowance should continue for 8 weeks after you have notified the Carers Allowance unit of her passing - I’m not sure about Universal Credit so I suggest that you contact the Carers UK Helpline
