I guessed there might be although I am guessing such insurers probably have higher premiums.
Sorry to hear about your son and glad he’s doing ok now. It must be really difficult dealing with health and other issues in your own family as well as sorting things for an elderly parent.
Most insurance policies that I know ask if the property is to be left vacant for 30 days or more at a time. If someone can visit and stay for a couple of days or nights each month (as BB suggests) then you can legitimately answer that question “NO”… There should then be no extra premium or ‘loading’.
