Hi all. I’m on carers allowance looking after my disabled husband. Am I entitled to free dental work? Carers allowance is the only benefit I can claim for. Struggling to find any information online.

Hi @Pilgrim if you are getting carers allowance, you should be on univerial credits or somthing else to get free dental. you can’t get it on carers allowance alone.

It used to be available to those on a low income.

Regrettably free dental care has been reduced more and more and as Michael says it is now dependent on means-tested benefits. If you haven;t already done so, may I suggest you use the Benefits Checker on the main CUK website as that may highlight some entitlement you may not be aware of.

I’ve just double checked, and found some NHS PAGES that say there IS still a low income scheme, nut not easy to find!
