Could you care for an elderly person in their own home?

Could you care for an elderly lady, in her own home, 1 or 2 weeks per month?

Our mum is in the early stages of dementia. She is kind and full of fun, but needs support with personal care, cooking, household tasks and mobilising safely.

We’re looking for a caring person, experienced in elder care, with a patient & positive nature. You’ll need to drive with access to a car, complete an Access NI check and work as part of a live-in care team.

Salary is up to £900 per week, with 2-hour breaks 6-days per week and a food allowance.

Location: Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland.

Hi @DesiD
Welcome to the forum. This forum is for family and friend carers like yourself. It is for emotional support and advice.

We don’t permit advertising.

We are all actively caring ourselves or former carers (coping with the different challenges this brings).

Please feel free to carry on posting.

I hope you find the support you need for your Mum.

As you are caring for someone with dementia, did you know that mum is probably entitled to Attendance Allowance? Once she is claiming AA she will be entitled to exemption from Council Tax?
