I wondered if anyone has an in-depth knowledge of the tax credit system? Especially the child tax credit element.
I’m trying to find out if mine would increase if I left my job.
I have two children with special needs, I claim DLA for both.
I claim carers allowance for one child and work 10 hours a week, minimum wage.
This is getting too much for me, but I really can’t afford to lose income.
My husbands works and earns an ok wage and we do currently get some tax credits. I’m really trying to find out if we’d get more tax credits if I gave up my job? I tried an online help with HMRC and they were really unhelpful and couldn’t advise on a hypothetical query.
Any help and advice would be greatly received.
