Advice on Carers Allowance and Tax Credits

Hello i have MS and my partner is due to claim Carers allowance as currently she is out of work and spends most days looking after me due to blind in one eye and mobility issues.

We are concerned over if claiming Carers allowance what impact it is on our child tax credit and working tax credit which we receive. My work hours fluctuate at present due to condition so my income annually is not the same to predict so i just want to know if claiming carers allowance as a huge benefit or a huge deduction to our tax credits for both or if any amendments?

Just some guidance to ease our minds would help.

Thank you.
