Sometimes you feel like you are in one of those science fiction films where you are the only one left there alone in the world
That’s how it seems to me anyway
Yes “the now” ( we know that)
Gratitude yes - there is something in that

Caring long term is very hard.
Hi @Hello_there
Caring can feel like that and the shorter daylight hours, very cold weather doesn’t help either.
Are you still getting your few hours/ days off?
Yes. It is as it is is my approach to it
@Hello_there it’s good you are still getting the break, it’s never enough though is it.
I get breaks but don’t seem to do much with them. Not complaining about that non doing as am a slacker by nature
How do you cope with negativity & stuff you do not like?
@Hello_there
When S is making moany and grumbling sounds for extended periods I try and remind myself of the cause - it’s often because he is suffering from IBS or constipation or is feeling tired. I might write about it on the forum or message a friend of mine who is a former carer or try and distract myself.
If he is very loud and the weather is ok I may go down the garden or I put on noise cancelling headphones.
The biggest stress for me is dealing with his college day service, social workers,
etc
What are your biggest stressors and how do you cope?
