Update From Gilli

Hi All,

Sorry I haven’t been around for so long. I thought it was time for an update on my 3 care-ees.

M, my youngest, is in supported living accommodation for people with learning difficulties and autism. He is no longer looking for work, but still plays basketball with the local Special Olympics basketball club. He comes to my house every day to walk the dog and feed and water the parrot.

A & J are still at home with me. A has social anxiety and is very self conscious about her hair, which is badly tatted and tangled and difficult to detangle. We’re very sure she has ADHD, just hasn’t got the diagnosis. She says she has AuDHD, which is a combination of ADHD and autism.

On Mondays and Tuesdaymornings James goes to a facility run by a charity called Mind You, where they hang out together and watch TV together. It’s for people with mental health issues. On Fridays he goes to a facility provided by All About Us, an autism charity, where they play video games, pool and darts. His support worker and I have been working on getting him out of the house more.

My oldest, P, and I have been trying to get A & J referred for social work support, but every team has said No

Hi @Gilli Good to hear from you again.

Did they give their reasons for refusing support in writing?
