I am about to try and sort out migrating us as a couple from tax credits to UC. I understand we need to apply as two seperate people then link the accounts. My concern is that my husband cant do any of this himself. I can do the internet based things but my concern is whether there will be a need for him to speak to anyone on the phone or in person? Is there anything I need to do to make sure all dealings are through me?
Ask for a Visiting Officer to help your husband. I can’t write by hand, someone came to fill my son’s forms in, when transferring onto PIP, all went smoothly.
Are you husband’s appointee? If you are his DWP appointee then you can deal with it all for him.
