Hello,
Is there any information about receiving an early one off draw down payment from a personal pension and receiving carers allowance.
This would be declared for HMRC but what happens regarding the DWP - Carers Allowance?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Gail8 i suggest you email the helpline:
For information and signposting, our telephone Helpline is available on [0808 808 7777](tel:0808 808 7777) from Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm (including Bank Holidays).
If you have a more complex query or would like more detailed guidance, we suggest you contact our email Helpline (advice@carersuk.org), as we’ll be able to provide more information.
Do you have Pension Drawdown? I took my tax free lump sum and it did not affect my Carers allowance. I did ask my Financial Advisor when I gave him the information for my Tax Return to clarify. But it was a few years ago and things may have changed? So I agree that the Helpline will hopefully have the mos up to date information.
Private pensions don’t affect Carers Allowance. They do affect any income-related benefits, but not Carers Allowance.
Thanks for responding. Had this confirmed by Helpline now.
Thanks for this. Helpline have confirmed it’s okay.
