Poor Law 1601 : Any Different Today : 'Bout Time This One Stood Alone ? Time For YOU To Ponder!

( Impotent poor … those unable to work and … BY ASSOCIATION … us ? )

( Able bodied poor … workhouses … at a slight stretch , low paid , menial jobs ? )

( Persistent idlers … easy … sanctioned by the DWP ! )

( Offer relief to the deserving poor … the role of TRUSSELLS and other food banks in 2019 … deserving = on referral ? )

( Collect a poor relief rate from property owners … COUNCIL TAX perhaps … and the funding of social care ? )
( Make parents and children responsible for each other … down to the family to care , no one else will … unless the family can afford it ? )

Yep … 1601 … have things REALLY changed since then ?

Over to you … early show … 3-1 … on at least 6 interlocking threads !

( 5-2 … on the spread to 10 ! )

Benefit levels / cutbacks … easy openers … no points for those.

" NO LEGAL DUTY TO CARE ! " … ( Depite what that Poor Law implies ! )

" So what ? If I don’t care for X , who will ? "

Are we still looked apon as " Charity cases " … both by Government AND our very own supporting organisations ???

( Free invite there for even CUK to add their own views …if they don’t mind mixing with … by ASSOCIATION …
the impotent poor ???

No need to be deloused afterwards … promise !

No " Alms for a beggar " on here … the odd food parcel won’t go amiss ! )
