Hi everyone I am hoping someone has been in my situation, I cared for my grandad who had terminal cancer up up until the day he passed in January.
Then just recently my children’s grandmother asked if I would care for here as her mum
Used to do it but she’s is struggling now as she is aging. I applied for carer element and the told me she is not eligible for a carer even though she recieves pip daily living and has documents to prove it is it possible they have made a mistake if so what can I do about it? Thanks a lot in advance xx
Did you apply in writing to DWP? What explanation did they give?

Is the person who was caring for her previously still claiming carers allowance? Only one person can claim carers allowance for supporting someone who needs care.
