Man wrongly diagnosed with dementia

Last night I was reading about a man in the Midlands being wrongly diagnosed by a hospital with early onset dementia. he and his wife were heartbroken and he considered suicide many times. His wife became ill and died but he had their dogs to look after which kept him going.

I think it was a support worker who said how well he was doing after 7 years and he got a referral and they discovered he hadn’t got dementia at all. Can you imagine that? He is only in his 60s.

How terrible to live with that hanging over them all that time!
