Live in Carers

Hello, I am in the process of trying to find a live in care service for my mother who’s has Parkinson’s and Parkinson’s dementia.

I have come across a few good agencies who ahev very good prices but are not regulated by the care Inspectorate, and are instead considered an introductory agency.

I don’t know whether it’s something I should be concerned about, or whether it’s something that’s widely regarded as OK, as I don’t fully understand why they are not regulated by the care Inspectorate and if it matters that much, as they have other procedures in place?

If anyone can share any knowledge or experience with this it would be much appreciated.

Regards

George

CQC gives the protection your loved one needs.

Thanks. So these agencies are regulated by CQC?

That wasn’t what I meant at all. Your relative NEEDS the protection of a CQC registered provider. Have a look at the CQC website.
