Brian, it sounds like a truly awful ordeal.
Take heart that you did absolutely everything you could and that your Mum is now at peace and her suffering is over.
It will take time to grieve, recover from the toll of caring and start to build a new life for yourself.

That is because you need to take time to grieve. Just taking each day at a time.
When my dad died in a house fire, I had support from Cruse, as I was still caring for S and working I couldn’t attend face to face to support but had email support instead. it really helped, might be worth considering. Grief takes time to work through.
