Just been reading through and AA forms were mentioned.
If you need help, ask whether your GP Practice has a Social Prescriber. Mine does and although I always complete my daughter’s benefit forms, this time I had to do AA for my husband who had a severe stroke.
I rang up and the social prescriber came to my house 2 days later and filled in the form (about 32 pages) with me. It was a huge weight off my mind because it has all been overwhelming for me lately.
We finished it, I posted it next day and they have acknowledged receipt so fingers crossed.
As she left she told me she was leaving our surgery. She covered 3 practices and two said they could no longer afford her so she was staying on at just one but you could only see her if you attended that practice, which I don’t. Seems to me she did a very useful job.
