Hello from a newbie

Dear all

I am sorry to have to tell you that Dad has passed away this morning. He is now at peace.

Thank you to everyone who has read and/or responded to my posts, and for being there when I was losing the plot with everything and talking sense to me when I felt like I couldn’t see the wood for the trees.

Thanks again,

Nadine xx

Sad to hear that Nadine.
As you say, he is at peace now.
You will be busy for a while, so try to rest today.
Others will be along shortly and please stay in touch (((hugs)))

Hello again

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet recently, but I have been busy sorting things out after Dad passed away last Friday.

I’ve had so many cards and flowers, phone calls, messages etc in the last few days it’s unbelievable.

My Dr has given me a note until just after the funeral and work have been really good as well.

I sometimes can’t believe that Dad won’t be here anymore, but on the other hand, it doesn’t feel like such a big change to adjust to, as Dad hadn’t been at home since 10th January, so I had started to get used to being here with just the cat for company.

Speak soon xx

So sorry to hear your sad news.

Hello again

Well, I got through Tuesday in one piece, which is more than I expected, as I fully expected to be a gibbering wreck all day.

I did have a moment when the hearse arrived and it was time to go, and again just as we went into the Chapel. I managed to sing most of the hymns and the tribute was spot on and a lot of people said how lovely the service was.

I’m going to pop into work today, I’ve got a follow up OHS appointment and I also need to look at what I want to do in terms of my hours longer term as I had planned to reduce them.

Speak soon xx

Nadine, please be kind to yourself over the next few weeks. You’ve had a tough time. Make sure you have plenty of peaceful time to allow your mind to process everything that has happened. Normally I’d suggest planning a holiday, not an option right now. However you could have a holiday at home, with DVD’s, a glass of wine, a long soak in the bath. Whatever makes you feel calm and relaxed.
We are here for you if there’s anything you need help with as far as sorting out dad’s stuff and personal papers is concerned. There are no prizes for getting it all done in record time, but you can’t really move on until it’s sorted.

Hello Bowlingbun

Thank you xx
