Tips and guidance for carers: financial support and help with reducing energy costs - Monday 4 December, 4-5pm
Dealing with the cost of living can be especially challenging for carers during the winter. As we head into the colder months, Liz from our Helpline team will be joining us to offer guidance on financial support and what help is available for reducing energy costs. Liz will be sharing some useful tips so be sure to bring along a notepad and pen, as well as any questions you may have. Book here
Managing stress with kindness - Tuesday 5 December, 2.30-3.30pm
Join coaches Rachael Wyartt and Priya Shah for an informative and interactive session looking at stress, the effect it has on us and our bodies, and how we might be able to manage it with kindness. This session will look at how acts of kindness can produce positive, physiological changes in the body to help overcome some of the effects of stress, as well as the importance of being kind to yourself and seeing the kindness in what you do. There’ll be time for questions, and for you to share any thoughts you have. Book here
Hatha Yoga - Wednesday 6 December, 5-6pm
In this Yoga session you will be taken through gentle stretches to relieve your physical stress, breathing techniques to promote calmness, yoga poses to improve posture, and periods of meditation for relaxation. Sangeeta is an experienced yoga teacher who has trained for many years in India and taught worldwide. She will guide you through a different themed class each time, enhancing your understanding and experience of the holistic practice of Yoga. Sangeeta‘s practice focuses on a moving meditation with dynamic and static postures, that allow the body, mind, and breath to become one through explorative yoga poses, chanting, pranayama, meditation, and Yoga-Nidra. Adult ballet for beginners and Silver Swans: Nutcracker special - Thursday 7 December, 2.30-3.30pm
Whether you’re new to ballet or returning after many years, join Johanna for a special beginner ballet class, themed on the ultimate festive ballet – the Nutcracker! Johanna’s gentle adult ballet class suitable for absolute beginners (so no pirouettes or leaps!). The class has no upper age limit as Johanna is an experienced Silver Swans® Licensee – Silver Swans is an initiative of the Royal Academy of Dance and are ballet classes specially designed for the over 55s. Following research into dance practice for older learners, gentle Silver Swans classes can help to improve mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels. In the class, you’ll be introduced to the basics of a traditional classical ballet barre, centre and learn repertoire inspired by the Nutcracker. Book here
