Feeling overwhelmed

Hi I’ll try and cut this short. I am going to try the helpline today but my situation is as follows. I am a single parent with 2 children, my eldest child has autism also I have my older brother living with me permanently, i don’t get any support from my family for my brother and just feel like it’s getting a bit too much, but the thought of looking at an alternative arrangement the guilt is killing me. Anybody else in a similar situation?

Welcome to the forum.

How old are you, your kids, and brother?
Do those with special needs claim benefits?
Do you own or rent your home?

Hi Rebecca and welcome,

The school holidays after having had the children at home for so long, must be tough.

Why does your brother live with you?

What do you mean by alternative arrangements? Do your children attend any play schemes or holiday clubs?

Hi Rebecca

That sounds really tough… thats way too much all on you.

Is your brother autistic as well? How old is he?

I have two kids with disabilities. One al most grown up and the other grown up

My eldest has recently moved to supported living.

I am finally getting a little time to myself.

Taken a lot of work to get to this point though.

Any further advice just ask.
