Hi, apologies in advance if I am asking an obvious question but I can’t seem to find a definitive answer.

My partner claims income related ESA (support group)
My son is getting DLA (high rate care)

If I claim Carer’s Allowance for my son, would that affect my partner’s ESA payments? Would he lose his SDP even though I’m not going to be claiming Carers Allowance for his care?

Any pointers would be much appreciated.
