CHC Funding

And so it drags on and on…we where accessed for CHC Funding in September 2018…they agreed a only a month ago that they would fund and refund us the payments we have made since September.
However we received a letter from there admin telling us the amount they are paying us which is only two thirds of what they owe us.

I noticed on the NHS site it states that as it can take longer sometimes then 28 days they will refund from the 29th day of the month the assessment takes place to the “date of the decision”

Does this then mean they are NOT going to pay me up to date all the money owed ( which included £3,500 to the care company who where demanding payment for a unpaid Invoice as they hadn’t been notified by CHC of there decision so some silly bugger namely me paid it !!!)

Anyone else had this fun and games - and yes I am grateful we got the funding as I know a lot of people don’t

Hi Linda.

( Ideally , a reader with first hand experience of exactly the same problem will respond ? )

The following link MAY be of assistance here … retrospective claims :

Retrospective claim for care fees rejected? - Care To Be Different
__

Has your retrospective claim for care fees been rejected ?

Needless to add … a very specialist field … I’ll be adding the above to the main CHC thread later this morning …
assuming I can find a constrasting colour ( More colours than a rainbow ? ).
( Now done : RETROSPECTIVE FEES ? FEES INCURRED BEFORE CHC APPROVAL ? … any spare
palates going cheap ? )

If it does not help , shout … I’ll dig further.

( AGE UK … always handy … have you ever approached them for advise on CHC , or mainly relied on us or an advocate ?

Me ? A mere bumbling amateur on CHC ! )

CHC … only the creators of it understand it … lesser mortals do there best to interpret what it all means ?

Some vultures out there willing to guide you through … at a price of an arm and a leg ?

Stone age … Stonehenge … modern age … CHC ?

No comfort whatsoever for Linda … and others … both past and present … needing to navigate a dysfunctional system.

Who is supposed to gather all relevant health documentation, the nursing assessors or family involved? As I have been advised that it’s down to me to get all paperwork together, as clinicians don’t have time.

An advisor engaged or going solo ?

Putting together an application is a team effort … not for the faint hearted.

Compass Healthcare also have good advice here :

Be wary … a commercial outfit.

Yes had bad experience with Compass, let me down very badly. Wasted time + money. Ignored my complaints, turning everything to their own benefit. Refused to put in a complaint to CCG, claiming it’d take too long.

I’m currently in contact with Beacon, who’s attitude is that it’s down to me to get all supporting evidence to back dealing with my Mum’s situation. No wonder the CCG have not found my Mum elligible all along, they’ve not only down-played my Mum’s health situation but cut corners as to evidence backing how ill she is.

Should they be taking into account the Coughlan Case? As when I mentioned it in the past, they brush it aside as irrelevant.

Coughlan case ?

One of the many UNTRUTHS told by some in the CHC chain … " It does not apply in this case ! "

( Let’s all use the word in CarerLand language … LIES ? )

WRONG amd WRONG again.

Main thread … COUGHLAN CASE and COUGHLAN & GROGAN CASES : HOW TO USE THEM

I learnt the hard way and keep all documents that relate to mum…she generates masses of paperwork from Doctors letters to Invoices to discharge notes…a whole forests worth of paper !!! Which now equates to 4 box files.

You never know when your going to need them…for example my mum stopped going to the day care centre over a year ago but the Council just started charging again even though she doesn’t attend. They kindly removed the money via Direct Debit ( to the tune of over £700) so we had to battle to get it stopped and refunded ( makes you wonder how many other people they do this to who don’t check there bank)

We had the fun and games with CHC to provide records of incidents where my mum had become aggressive and at risk of falling. As it’s a almost daily thing with my mum we never kept notes…yet we where told the care company should have been doing it so that delayed the decision for a while until we could get the info together…

So my advise is keep everything…document everything yourself as you never known when your going to need it I’m afraid

EASIER SAID THEN DONE WHEN YOU HAVE A MILLION AND ONE OTHER THINGS TO DO BUT TOO POOPED TO DO IT !!!

Thanks Chris … new link / section … any use … helpful … especially if other readers source it ???

The main thread is only of use IF readers find it so !

Feedback … a repeated request for it !

" Sorry Chris , I gave up halfway through … too complicated ! "

" In what way ? Design … colour ( Perhaps aqua instead of royal blue ? ) … information thereon too " Academic " …
Corrie just about to start … ? "

Feedback … and please … post any under the MAIN thread ???

Yes Chris your links are really helpful…keep em coming fella x x

Congratulations … today’s first feedback ( NONE over the past months ! ) … foodbank voucher on it’s way … one from a
batch I specially printed … should work at first glance … better quality than those Maggie tenners I got done for thirty
odd years ago … when down a treat at Orgreave … slipping a few into certain pay packets ?

On many manors , more common than bank notes ???

It’s Sunday … wash day … and constant battle to get the rags dry within 2 days without using the oven or flame thrower
