i have been recieving carers allowance and income support for almost 5 years since i had to give up work to care for my wife,i have recently been made aware of a carers premium but on researching it i am no wiser about the criteria for recieving it,the gov website says that it is automatically applied but from what i can see i meet all the criteria but am not recieving it ,am i missing something…confused
From google:- If you get a means tested benefit (like income based jobseekers allowance, income related employment and support allowance, income support or housing benefit) and are awarded carer’s allowance, you will get a ‘carer premium’ included in your means tested benefit – this is extra money.
