When I first started receiving Carer’s Allowance in 2010, I was sure there were two levels of benefit. At the time the person I was caring for needed some Care but still had some independence so I was on the Standard level. However, they now need 24 hour care. We are applying for the enhanced level of Attendance Allowance but I was looking to also apply for the enhanced Carer’s Allowance. However, I can only see the one rate. Is this right? Has it changed? Or did I just get it wrong!? Many thanks .
Sadly, there is only the one miserly rate.
Has your caree had a recent Needs Assessment from Social Services, and you, a Carers Assessment?
