30 hours

I am a carer for my son who has ASD, I do not currently work due to his needs but my partner works full time.

If I request carers allowance would we be entitled to the 30hrs childcare for my younger child or do I have to find a 16 hour job to around him to qualify?

Thank you.

All 3 to 4-year-olds in England can get 570 free hours per year.

It’s usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year, but you can choose to take fewer hours over more weeks, for example. Some 3 to 4-year-olds are eligible for 30 hours free childcare a week.

Check if you’re eligible and find out how to apply.

MumsNet … always a good source for this kind of information … although most single dads would be put off … even when
some of the information thereon applies equally to them … perhaps ParentsNet ???

Child care ?

Can be real fun under Universal Credit … if rolled out on your manor ???

Threads scarce on the forum … I hope the above helps.
