I watched this and it’s obscene how much people are paying out for care home fees. That poor old man whose feet were black! He was paying approx £1200 a week.
I totted up how much my Mum paid out in care home fees (after having to sell her home) and in 3 years and 8 months it came to £141,000. The second home was wonderful and I know she got superb care for those 3 years so I don’t begrudge a penny. However, the first home was absolutely penny pinching with mean portions, cold rooms, baths just once a week, disinterested staff and very basic furniture so I would not have been happy paying them for any longer.
