Support Needed

I have been my fiancé’s carer since his brain injury in May 2016. His health has recently started to decline and it’s had a huge impact on my mental health.
I’m constantly worried and having trouble sleeping. Just when things start to look like they might get better, something else goes wrong. I can’t look forward to the future because I’m constantly worried something else is going to go wrong.
I regularly feel low, isolated and hopeless.
I have days that I want to stay in bed all day and hide from the world.
I love my fiancé so much but sometimes I wish we had a normal life and were a normal couple.

Hi Charlene, welcome to the forum.

Sorry you’re feeling low at the moment, you’re not alone in this. Some people find it helpful to connect with other cares for mutual support. We’re running weekly online chats where carers meet informally over a cuppa, it can help to be with others who understand what you’re going through.
