New to caring son with Hodgkin's

Hi I’m Ally. Currently looking after my 25 year old son with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Feeling pretty isolated

Hi Ally, welcome to the forum. I am so sorry to hear about your son’s illness. Every mother’s nightmare. Are you getting any local support? I know money doesn’t solve things, but can make life easier, so are you both claiming all the benefits you are entitled to?

Hi @AllyG123
I’m so sorry to hear about your son’s cancer.
I’m glad you’re here
Firstly, I’m sending you a BIG BIG hug. You’re not alone
On Carers UK there’s a helpline and virtual cuppa meetings you can connect to Helpline and other support | Carers UK

If there is a Maggies near you, they have a wonderful oasis of a centre - usually affiliated to a hospital - where cancer patients and their families can rest, relax, connect with others and seek help from counsellors, or benefits experts or simply connect to tothers

Recently I’ve connected into other forums which are online supports
Suleika Jaouad started ‘The Isolation Journals’ It’s a wonderful community of online prompts and replies About - The Isolation Journals with Suleika Jaouad
She and her husband Jon Batiste produced ‘An American Symphony’ - on Netflix.

I hope these ideas can connect you more here and to others. Feel free to share as much or as little as you wish
