my dad died at home last year after looking after him for 10 years, now i am just looking after mum, who is 93 this year.
a few weeks before dad died at home, we had to have our cat put down
due to illness which was awful as we all loved the cat so much, made a difficult situation with my dads illness seem even worse somehow, long term caring is very stressful and frustrating, i cant remember the last time i was able to have some sort of life of my own, but we soldier on dont we??
New Year, new start! i am concentrating now on losing weight ive gained and exercising more, i figure the healthier i am, the better i can cope with whatever life throws at me!! i wish everyone who is caring and coping with the difficulties that causes,(anger/resentment/tiredness etc) a very good
New Year, and remember your not alone, there are millions of us!
i read a good blog the other day, i recommend reading it, just google
number 18 in the corner, its brilliant and very real!! bye for now

Thanks, it looks good. Diary of an accidental carer.
Although it is no different from the stories we read here all the time.

Hi @judith_18061
Sounds like you have had tough times.
Are you going to get another cat, now that some time has passed?
Will check out your recommendation.
Good luck with the weight loss and pledge to exercise more.
yes times are tough for all carers, now my mum is housebound,
quite depressing!! we got another cat a few months ago, a young
ginger and white cat with lots of energy, a bit like having a toddler around!
garage door has broken this morning, god theres always something!!
wishing you a good New Year!!
