Invitation to carers' event in Manchester on Wed 27 Nov

Calling all forum members in Manchester and surrounding areas, you are warmly invited to Carers UK’s latest roadshow event…

When: Wednesday 27 November (1.30pm – 4.30pm)

Venue: Friends’ Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS
We are delighted to announce that we’ll be hosting this event alongside one of our affiliates The Gaddum Centre, a leading provider of health and wellbeing services in Greater Manchester.

Join us for a relaxed, enjoyable afternoon, where you’ll connect with other carers, find out how we’re championing carers’ rights and receive tips on how to take care of your health and wellbeing.

In addition to receiving afternoon tea and cake and contributing to interactive discussions, you’ll be able to meet other carers and visit information stands where you can find out what support is available near you.

If you would like to attend please email membership@carersuk.org or call 02073784989. Once you register your interest, we will then respond to confirm your registration and will send you further information a couple of weeks before the event.

Do feel free to bring along anyone else you know who looks after someone. Places are limited, so please contact us quickly to guarantee your place.

We hope to see you there.

With best wishes,

Lizzie, Michael and Lucy

Hi Lizzie

Do you have any other roadshows coming up in other parts of the country…missed this one… do you do them regularly ?

More must be done to campaign for unpaid carers rights.

Hi cloudygal. Yes, we are planning to run four this year and we’re thinking to run first one in Sheffield in March. Details tbc at the mo but will definitely advertise it on the forum once details are confirmed. What city are you from?

Hi Lizzie

That’s good theres going to be four.

That one is too far away. Dont like to give personal details on here that are too specific…but I come from the south of England.

Any down this end?

Cool. I can keep you posted if we hold any within that region.

I’m way down South too, if I went another mile further South I’d be in the sea.

Why wouldn’t you already be planning something in this region?

You must surely know that it’s often not practical or even possible for full time carers to travel for over 4 hours each way (by car) to and from any event.

Ayjay

Lucky you being so close to the sea.

Lizzie

I often dont get away for more than two hours so I definitely cannot travel for hours to and from an event either.

Please do arrange one for us down here! Would like to attend.

I also was at this event, it was something very great.

This event has now finished.
