christmas 2025!! so here we are almost getting ready for another christmas. Please can we all try & set up a chat group so we can all say hello even if its after christmas. as i find the days inbetween.awkward. I am in surrey, so happy to lend a listening ear. Bye for now Amanda h

Many of us regulars have a good chin-wag and catch up on Roll Call thread, @18Amanda27h. You’ll find many posts there each and every day including all over the …Season…and Twixtmas time can be very lonely so you’ll find warmth and silliness will be Business As Usual.

We always used to start thinking about “C” after my husband’s birthday on December 2nd. Then we’d dig out the decoration boxes etc. The only thing I do before then is make the mincemeat with M - we’ve just weighed up almost everything but I forgot to buy more currants - and weigh up the fruit for a week soaking in a third of a pint of sherry - which we will do tomorrow morning. Then both steam engines will be steamed and friends coming round - one will be doing a little adjustment during the winter months, so it will be a bit busy!

@18Amanda27h Hello from me. I too find Xmas generally very difficult as being able to get out for short periods is the only thing that keeps me more or less sane and my usual events do not happen around Xmas time. I agree with Chris with regard to Roll Call. We share the ‘ups and downs’ of caring and whilst we cannot ‘wave a magic wand’ there is a lot of support and empathy and even some humor, often black. It has been a life saver for me at times. Please join us and feel free to reveal as little or as much as you want to.

Hi @18Amanda27h If you’re asking about the video chats, I’ve no idea what’s planned but we can mention it to the communications team so they let members know soon. But in the meantime do drop into Roll Call!

How are you doing these days? I’m sure this time of year is especially difficult since losing your husband. Don’t forget we’re here for you.

Yes, we are past Armistice day and it is starting to creep up. I have already prepared our church services poster for December, with a few festive touches added. It is nearly time for the annual row with my wife over whom and whom not we are going to send Christmas cards to. Then the presents list . . .

Oh well - it’s all enjoyable and worth it in the end.
