Hi to all. I’m new to caring and to Carers UK. I am about to give up work altogether to care full time for both my parents. They would like to contribute financially so I can afford to live. I know this won’t affect my being able to claim Carers Allowance, but is there a cap on how much they can contribute before it is considered a taxable income?

There is some official guidance to answer your question properly. I think it’s on the Office of the Public Guardian website. Just found the section when I typed in their search bar “Paying a Relative to Care”. Maybe the mods can do a link for you?
