Community alarms

Can they be used when a carer is unavailable sleeping or out the house.

If the user needs to get out of bed and fear risk of falling or falling off the toilet not actually fell.

@pipsy hiya Pipsy you put can they be used when a carer is sleeping or out of the house. Yes if the person has fallen and had an accident they press the alarm it goes through to a call centre and they either ring 999 or the nominated person.thats the telecare alarm.but that only works up to a certain distance from the box.

There may be other alarms you would have to ring the company/companies and ask what sort of alarms they have available.

You put if the user needs to get out of bed and fears the risk of falling or falling of the toilet not actually fell. I don’t know if there are plans and monitors for that. But I think the tele-care ones the pendant ones are for if a person has fallen or had an accident. And the call centre calls the emergency services or there nominated person who would then call the emergency services. I don’t think these alarms are for if you fear the risk of falling getting out of bed or of the toilet. I think they are for if someone has. There may be other alarm plans that are for Different situations I’m not sure. But I think they may be a lot more expensive. You would need to look up community alarms and see.i suppose they expect if someone fears the risk of falling getting out of bed etc. then they don’t do that till the carer or a family member comes to help them. Take care have a nice day.

Social Services gave my son an Oysta pendant after he decided to go for an unaccompanied walk one evening! One day when he was home with me, not wearing it, it fell on the floor. Almost immediately a voice said “M are you alright?”. So they are obviously very sensitive.
