Have applied for this grant and have been told I don’t meet the criteria. I am a full time carer recieve carers allowance. My daughter is with me 24/7 and this hasn’t changed even during the lookdown. So what do we carers need to qualify and why is there no appeal.
Dear Lynne
I wanted to wish you a warm welcome to the forum and to highlight some of the options for connecting with fellow carers and for getting support from Carers UK should you need it.
Carers UK are running online weekly meet ups for carers to take some time for themselves and chat to other carers. Feel free to join if you’d like to and there’s no pressure to share anything you don’t want to. I’m sure you’ll find others in a similar position to yourself.
You can find information on how to register to our online meetups at the following pages:

Hi & welcome Lynne
Where did you apply - through the council or an agency operating grant for the local council.
Hi Lynne. Welcome aboard!
Whoever is operating the scheme has to work to eligibility criteria, and those criteria MUST be published. You’re within your rights to request a copy - and they can’t refuse as the criteria have to be publicly available.
