Carers element backdate UC

UC have been aware I am a carer since the day I opened my claim, I only receive £67 UC every 2 weeks due to the deductions they take from carers allowance and have previously written in my journal expressing that I dont feel im being given an appropriate amount and they have never mentioned carers element, I learned about this through researching extra support I am entitled to so I have requested this in my journal.

My question is, why have they never offered this to me before as they have always been aware I am a carer, and will I get a backdated payment for the time I have been eligible but not receiving

I have been eligible for carers element since oct 2023

I would suggest making a Subject Access Request to DWP asking for a copy of their entire record for this period, then you can see what they have or have not said and done.
