Hi I care for my Dad over 35 hour p/w and I started a claim for carers allowance over 15 weeks ago and still not received a letter to confirm a decision.
Has anyone else had to wait this long?
The form says up to 12 weeks.
Mine took about 8 weeks. Not heard anything about problems recently.
Did you claim online? You should have a receipt so you can phone up and ask what’s going on.
I called the Carers Unit this morning and was told they are currently dealing with claims made in November 2021, I made my claim in mid December and was told currently around 12 weeks.
Oh goodness. I’m still waiting too. I didn’t claim until January 7th 
It’s lucky we’re not starving isn’t it?!
