Caregiver for my husband with terminal cancer

Hello, I am new to this. My husband has stage 4 terminal cancer. He has always been the strong one. I am feeling so helpless. I just want to run away from it all, but I cannot. Just need someone to talk to that understands what I m going through.

Do you live in the UK?

Hi Linda,
Welcome to the forum.

It must be very hard to come to terms with your husband’s diagnosis. Are you getting any support from the McMillan nurses? They or your local hospice should be able to offer emotional support as well as practical support and advice.

Dear Linda

I am so sorry. I have been in those shoes. Many of us will understand - we can just be here so you can say whatever you feel, or we can try to to respond if you have questions.

As Melly1 says, Macmillan has much to offer or if your husband has a Specialist Nurse in his Oncology team they might be able to point you to local support.

There are many support networks - it’s just finding the one/s that will help you the most.

Hope there is some helpful information in the above links.
