Hi
I am a pensioner that gets the standard rate of PIP and mobility allowance. I dont have a score of 4 on any sections which I understand I wont be entitled to the daily living allowance if the new rules come in on nov 2026. I assume that anyone who doesnt have a 4 will be stopped automatically regardless of how long their review date is but some people are saying it will only be stopped when your review date is due? Does anyone know which is right?

According to What's changing, when website
Personal independence payment
From November 2026, claimants will need to score at least 4 points from a single daily living activity to qualify for the daily living component of PIP, as well as scoring a total of at least 8 points…
The changes will apply both to new claimants and to existing claimants when their award is reviewed from November 2026 onwards.
As you are over retirement age, you will be able to apply for Attendance Allowance when your PIP is reviewed and stopped.
Does anyone know if that review would mean Mobility would stop?
(Under the old rules when mum was alive if you were entitled to Mobility before retirement age it continued for the rest of your life).
Its my understanding the mobility part is not affected in the scoring

I wrote for a copy of my son’s PIP scoring, it arrived yesterday. I’m certain I’ve never seen it before. The “good” news was that he scored 4 in a number of categories, but some of the scoring is odd. To give one example, he cannot read, write or do any maths but only scored 2 for needing support in this area?! He scored 12 for needing help when out and about, now I know that whilst it doesn’t give automatic entitlement to a blue badge, I can apply to the LA which can then grant it, with supporting evidence. From this, make sure you know the scoring given, and if you can’t find it, just write/email to DWP for a copy.
