Social care: Free at the point of need - The case for free personal care in England
Adult social care is one the most important public services in the UK. For hundreds of thousands of people it provides vital care and support – in their homes or in a residential setting – to ensure that they can maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life as they age. This may involve receiving help with basic tasks such as getting up or eating, or 24-hour support for people with complex needs such as dementia.

A hint from street level ?
RECOMBINE SOCIAL CARE WITH THE NHS.
FUND BOTH THROUGH GENERAL TAXATION.
( FROM THE CRADLE TO THE … LIME PIT. )
Oh dear , did The Street just upset someone ?
( I won’t throw in the cancer patient with dementia scenario … regular readers know that one off by heart ? )
Time now for others to join in the chorus … especially forum readers ???
With all the N.I. contributions people pay all their working lives - the system can well afford Health & Social Care combined. All down to miss-management. Otherwise Health & Social Care can be afforded…definately a Black Hole somewhereabouts
It’s imperative an awakening of conscience in the hearts + minds of those in charge - they need to realize it’s an interdependent society for goodness sake. Only when they struggle massively personally will they realize ‘No man is an island’.
