The NHS is looking for carers to take part and share their experiences in an important upcoming online focus group on elective care waiting lists. This covers any care for yourself or the person you care for that is planned and non-emergency and involves currently being on an NHS waiting list or having been in the past year. It refers to any non-urgent medical procedures, consultations, and tests scheduled in advance, such as hip replacements, cataract surgeries, or outpatient specialist appointments.
The research has been commissioned by NHS England. Based on discussions with 120 patients already, they have drafted minimum standards of what good care looks like whilst waiting to help other patients. They now want to invite carers to join the online focus group during February to help shape them. A report will also be produced to be shared with NHS England in which all findings will be anonymous.
Further detail will be shared with anyone interested and participants will receive a £50 Love2Shop voucher to thank them for their time.
