Thanks. She got there at 9:30. I’ve explained situation with her and they suggested maybe I pop over with her stuff an hour or halve hour before lunch. Then I have a leave you to get your lunch exit. She is going to let the staff up on her floor know the situation and ask that they help put her stuff away. I’m nervous and be glad to get it over. After I’m going to pick up a pair of jeans from M&S and pjs for L&O for their Easter. So that nice. However we will see if the jeans look ok I’ve been informed for my shape the barrel style are good. We will see. If you hear laughter all the way to you all you will know it’s a disaster :winking_face_with_tongue: and they make me look even worse.

I despair of finding jeans that look good on me at the moment. I have long legs needing 32ā€ inside leg but after major surgery my waist is at least 8ā€ larger than it used to be (but my life was saved as a result of the surgery). I can’t bear a belt round the waist either. I’ve been losing weight slowly, my thighs are smaller than they’ve been for many years, so now I look more like Humpty Dumpty than ever!! Probably the best solution would be braces??

@Knitfi I know you will be nervous try and not be. I am glad you have explained the situation so that they know all you have been put through, and hubby is coming with you like the lady said just drop the things off and the exit because of lunch good idea. Try and not let any of it bother you easy said than done. But once it’s done it’s done. And if she going to tell the staff upstairs where she is that’s good .they will all know the situation that’s good for you. Then after you can go and have fun ,those barrel jeans from m&s are really nice .last week on this morning when they have the clothes part it was all about jeans and someone had the barrel jeans on they looked so nice. Cat from good morning had them on to. Barrel jeans are the in jeans at the moment all the Celebs are wearing them . Trendy Knifti. I hope you like them.i will listen to. L&O will like the pjs. I’ve brought my neice ,her husband and great nephew . Eggs and sweet. I get nephew Easter colouring books etc. but they will be on hols .they go away every half term on holiday. Have some fun shopping it be good for you. Thinking of you take care.:bouquet:

@Knitfi Hope the care home visit goes well… You’ll be fine. Going just before lunch so you have a reason to get away is a good plan. Good idea to combine it with a shopping trip and treat for you too. Even if you don’t end up buying anything sometimes window shopping can be very cathartic.

Immmmm back………. I’m alive just with thumping head. Hubby came in with me. Staff lovely. Home lovely the dining area all set with white table clothes and flowers. Lounge just of it very nice too. Her room is spacious although she is asking for the to run the bed down middle of room rather than along the wall as she is claustrophobic. Steve started to unpack as her sock was wet and the bottom of trousers. Think she spilled water but of course she said no. The. It was the orders of can do…. Orders orders. However I did surprise her with things I had brought she hadn’t thought about. The 2 things I didn’t take she asked for coat and shoes. Which to be honest I can’t see her using yet. She was demanding staff nicely that she needed something for her cramp had asked someone but not had it yet. I need it now ! Oh it’s going to be fun for them. Came away after 45 mins Steve took stuff back to the car that she insisted I took there and then as she didn’t want them. Rubbish and magazines from hospital.

Jeans well they were carrot ones I had put those and barrel ones in my online basket always give myself 24 hours before completing. Barrel sold out so will look again later Took all my measurements not a nice experience and order per that. Mind you there is 7 in difference from waist to hips basically as they now have stomach flab in the equation. Far too big on waist and I could put on without undoing them. So too large all over. Bit too baggy. I know it’s actually for my height the barrel slimline I’m best to buy. Back on the hunt. @Teddybear I watch on YouTube Annemarie my Fashion Life she is 63 and 5ft 2. Bonus on not being curvy though. Have had a lot of tips from that.

@Knitfi well done you’ve done it. Sorry about the thumping headache.i am so glad your hubby was with you. That’s nice of him. I’m glad the place is nice and the staff are lovely. Well if she wants the bed moving that’s up to the staff, just don’t bother about the orders ,you know what she is like. She can’t order you about anymore she has gone into there to be looked after. Well I hope she appreciated all the nice things that you thought of taking for her. The coat and shoes what you could do is when you speak to the manager as you said she is nice. Ask her if your mum will need coats and shoes. and if she ever does if she can let you know and you will see that they are dropped off. You just deal with the manager .you don’t need orders saying to you.well at least she was nice demanding to the staff. How long will the nice last. And yes she will have to wait .how many others are there in there that need things to there be no I need it now. It will be when you get it.oh it is going to be fun for them ,if I knew she was coming I’d be looking for another job .lol. Your hubby sounds lovely, and when you said yesterday he would not come. I thought he would do just for you.he would not have left you to deal with it on your own.

I bet the barrel jeans have sold out because they had them on the this morning fashion show last week and keep saying they were from M&S so everyone would rush to buy them.you will have to look out for the barrel slimline.they will come back in .

Height I’m about 6ā€ short since I fell. I seem to remember that they had some nice jeans on the show from primark. But I don’t think you can shop online for that shop. I think they have a website that you can look at things but have to go into the shop to buy.is there one of them where you live.i can’t remember people modelling items and cat kept saying it from primark. And the items were nice.i will have a look at the u tube video.for a nosy Did you get L&O there pjs.Glad it went aswell as could be expected, have a nice rest this afternoon put your feet up or have a stroll in your garden. Take care:bouquet:

I may look at Primark but I’m sure I found they didn’t have short lengths. Some things are available online. There is a choice for that. However it’s not a huge amount. Yep one about 15 mins from us. Steve nipped in there for socks while I went into M&S. Must say I did see a few things in Marks that I liked for a while it was difficult as it was very very modern. The area they are in has Cinema restaurants and shops all beside MK Dons Stadium. Good choice of shops however you need to be wrapped up the wind literally cuts throught it and it’s so cold

@Knitfi yes it is cold it’s cold in my house. It sounds like there are some nice shops where you live. I bet it was nice just to have a walk about and chill out for you. Would John Lewis Do short lengths, or river island ,or Dorothy Perkins. Some shops do tall and short ranges.

Cold down here in the New Forest too. I’ve just lit the fire!

Wow. How lovely but not so great getting to end of March. Mind you the saying goes never cast a clout till Mays out.Hamish has just started barking wildly as the letter box has knocked due to the wind! @Teddybear yes lots of places do supposedly petite ranges. For instance with M&S if I go to All Petite I see lots of jeans/ trousers but that is just the length really. If I want a top or T-shirt there are none. Next is a lot better. Only thing is that if you are small but round oh well you really shouldn’t be going outside and definitely not to a dressy event according to what is stocked. Think we all stop at 14. Never mind anything bigger. Some of the more up market makes do proper petites if still around. Minuet Country Classic’s Phase Eight ( got my dress for Chris’s wedding from there). I can’t run to the prices though. I got a sewing machine last year so I can take up clothes. Mind you not used it or practiced yet. Hoping soon I will. Need to get some bits of fabric from charity shops to practise on

I had seen the Tu ones on The Petite Wardrobe. I always need to check fully petite as in the proportions are petite. I lot say it’s petite but only length. But I will double check those. Glad I make you laugh.

@Knitfi You made me laugh, and then I read horsydebs post to you, and that made me laugh to. I bet you feel so relieved. I feel relieved for you and she isn’t my mum. I only wrote petite in. I thought in trousers it was only length. Ones Debenhams look nice.

I have the opposite problem. All my 100% cotton jersey tops come from Lands End.com, they are lovely quality but I can only buy the tall fitting from the USA. I’ve just had a look at their UK site and they have a petite range too. Avoid putting the tops in the dryer though as they shrink a bit. Don’t be put off by their full prices. I know that sounds silly, but if you put something in your basket but don’t buy it immediately, they may offer you a special welcome deal. I seldom pay full price for anything from them, they have endless promotions. I put things I like in my basket then wait until it’s reduced. Some new tops arrived today, I think I paid about 40% of the initial price. Sometimes things that cost Ā£70 will end up at Ā£15! Jersey is so much easier for my arthritic shoulders.

Will have a look then. We are certainly the short and the tall of it :joy:

Returns in the UK are easy. Once you know what size you are in their things, they are very consistent.
